M: 17. Dec 1947 in Middlesbrough to Rita Mary Connorton (1929-1986), daughter of John Connorton (1901-1969) and Violet Rebecca Large (1904-1988); eight children.
D: Nov. 1986 in Banstead, Surrey
Billy was rather a quiet person, more reserved. Like his father, he was originally an industrial painter. However he had a very bad accident so that he couldn't continue as "spiderman". In the end he and Rita were steward and stewardess of the Purley Cricket Club in Surrey.
3. Joyce Fluen
B: 31. Mar 1930 Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding
M: Jul 1949 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding to Leslie Blake (1925-1986), son of John Joseph Blake (1879-1954) and Lavinia Swalwell (1892-1930); two children.
D: 10. Jan 1995 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding
Joyce was born with a malformation of the lung; she only had one lung. Like her brother Billy, she was also a rather a quiet person.
Leslie worked for Dorman Long. He and Joyce later ran the former Station Public Hotel in Grangetown, at the end of Pochin Road.
4. Kenneth Fluen
B: 10. May 1933 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding
M: Jul 1954 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding to Patricia Galloway (1932-1968), daughter of Robert James Harland Galloway (1910-1969) and Margery Swales (1912-1997); one son.
M: Jul 1963 Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding to Anne Hortense Nyland (1926-2011), daughter of John Edward Nyland (1893-1957) and Henrietta Hortense (1900-1933); one son.
D: 03. May 1968 in Sunderland, Durham
Kenneth was a dare devil and a magnet for girls.
He served as paratrooper (Royal Army Service Corps) and was later steward of the Belvedere Working Men's Club in Kent and last of a Club in Sunderland.
5./6. twin girls (1935-1935); not registered, but named June and Lillian, when it was spoken about them two.
7. Brenda Fluen
B: 06. Apr 1937 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding
M: Mar 1955 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding to Sailendra K Routh (1937-2005); six children.
D: Aug 1991 in Luton, Bedfordshire
Like Billy and Joyce, also Brenda was a rather quiet and reserved person. Sailandra was a structural steel painter. (Photo on the right shows Brenda with her parents.)
8. Margaret Fluen (Feb. 1940 - Feb. 1947); died because of a brain tumour and got buried in the plot of her grandfather, THOMAS HENDY FLUEN.
9. Pauline Fluen

M: 1960 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding to Haralal Debnath (1936-1996); five children.
M: two more marriages in 1976 (Donald Malcom Burton) and 1981 (John Gregory); no children from these marriages.

Pauline was a real character: mischievious, full of fun, cheeky and loved a tipple. She always had a story to tell you about her life. As kid she nicked off school on a regular base. As young teenager, she fell in love with Haralal Debnath and became a mother at the age of 15. Like his brother- and father-in-law, he was also a structural steel painter.
10. Maureen Fluen
B: 11. Feb. 1950 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding
M: 25. Nov 1968 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding married to David John Wilcox; three children.
D: 05. Mar 2019 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - North Riding
Maureen was the baby of the family and the apple of the old man's eye. She was very calm and didn't cause her parents any problems.
