Message:I am descended from James Fluen and Louisa Ruddock. I have read your website and forwarded it to family members, it is fascinating thank you. I have DNA tested on ancestry and uploaded to various other sites.
My matches have given me Luke Locke as a possible father for James Fluen, he was living in the right place and widowed like Amelia. But obviously would need more DNA tests of people descended from James to prove it.

Message:Thank you for your work on this wonderful page. I am a descendant of Harold Winch, and further back to James Saul Hendy and Maria Harriskind. It's lovely to fill in some of the Hendy connections.

Message:Thank you for your work. I am descended from Francis Clapham of Newall, Otley c. 1586 - 1658 who married Elizabeth Lamb. You mention that you think he was the son of Francis Clapham, but I am not clear which one you mean. Would you mind enlightening me? Many thanks

Message:Hello! My Mother, Joanne Elizabeth Waddingham, is the great-great grandaughter of Edith Emily Hendy and Harold Reginald Rathbone. Thank you so much for this website, I cannot express enough how helpful it has been in piecing together our family tree. Love to one branch of a very big family to another. x

Message:I am a descendant of Robert Godson and Jane Clapham Fulford. I have found your website very interesting.Robert and Jane were obviously married in George Clapham will 1629. I find it very frustrating that there is so little information on their children ?when did Jane die ? when did Robert marry his 2nd wife Ellen. I have James pre 1631 as their eldest child - my line of descent but little known about their other children. Celia Dodd who has done most of the Godson family tree says its probably due to the civil war. Just my luck .

Dear Brenda,
I know too well the frustration described by you, because it is unfortunately true that many records were destroyed, lost, or simply not kept during the Civil War (1642-60).
But of the surviving records, many have since been transcribed and collected by genealogical societies, however not all, yet.
So do not give up! Maybe you have more luck in a certain time.
